Welcome to the.....
Red Bluff Union High Class Of 1964 Website!
Greetings from your Grand Poohbah and Grand Poohbahette,
As you all remember, or as well as any of us can remember anything at our age, we sent out a survey regarding our “leftover” funds from the reunion to the committee and posed the question about donating a goodly portion to the STFTA, (State Theater For The Arts) to help with their renovation. Unlike most surveys we have sent out, all but 2 of you responded, (and they were probably just out of touch on vacation galavanting around the country).
Each and every response was positive and all said “heck, yes, go for it”. I am paraphrasing, of course, because most of you would never use such harsh language as “heck”. We were, (are?), going to make a big deal out of it for the local paper, by presenting the STFTA president with one of those great big oversized checks, (he has one that uses dry erase markers for just such an occasion. That’s the advantage of having Joe Vine, owner of the Copy Center, being president of the STFTA).
Well, Vicki and I got the $1500 from Joy and presented it to the theater board so they could start using it right away, but haven’t deemed it necessary to honk our horn that much, (OK I think it’s more procrastination on my part than anything). When/if we do said horn honking we’ll let you know so you can procure a picture of the presentation, laminate it, frame it, and proudly display it in your living room for all the world to see. You will also be able to see our “RBUHS Class of 1964” name on the “major donors” plaque in the lobby of the theater.
